Ol ‘Tavern Beer Ringer T. (Gray/Black) Ol’Tavern Beer is a pre-prohibition style lager beer. Light and refreshing lager made for ball games and yard work. We used our Midwest malted 2 row base malt, Flaked Corn, German Munich, and Flaked Barley, with some additions of traditional German hops. The result is a well-balanced lager with slight malty sweet notes. A homage to the Thieme & Wagner Brewing Company, founded in 1858, in Lafayette, IN., by John Wagner and Dietrich Herbert at the corner of Fourth St. and Union St. (the brewery stood where the Harrison Bridge now stands). Herbert was bought out by Frederick Thieme in 1862 and became Thieme & Wagner Brewing Co. By 1876, the brewery was producing 7,000-8,000 barrels annually. Model: Jim (Events Coordinator)
