Our Beers

Our belief is that "Everyone likes a craft beer... they just don't know it. "

People's Brewing Company offers fresh craft brewed beer, made in small batches, from our single production facility in Lafayette, Indiana. We offer 6 or 7 beers at any one time, including rotating seasonals, for distribution to restaurants, beer bars, and retail stores.

~ Aberrant Amber ~

American Style Amber with an twist. We started with a classic American Amber, 22% Caramalt giving it an Amber hue. Then added a large addition of Amarillo and Centennial hops for the bittering and dry hoped with Amarillo, giving it notes of grapefruit and tangerine. The complexity of the malts and hops in this beer make it a great ale for anyone who loves flavor.

~ Amazon Princess IPA ~

American Style India Pale Ale. We used American base malt with a small addition of Crystal malt to give this beer an orange hue. Hopped exclusively with Simcoe Hops giving this beer a tropical flavor and aroma. Passion fruit and grapefruit dominate the flavor and aroma characters. Originally brewed one year after our very first brew day and released one year after our first delivery day, this beer is also known as our 1st Anniversary IPA.

~ Farmer's Daughter Wheat ~

American Style Wheat Ale… Refreshing crisp beer made with 60% malted wheat and lemon grass, resulting in a grassy wheat flavor with hints of citrus. We used our Midwest malted Harrington malt, caramalt, malted wheat, and Perle hops. Well balanced beer for the end of a long days work, light and refreshing.

~ Fiddlin' Willies Scottish Ale ~

Wonderfully malty ale, with a dark reddish-brown color. Caramalt and Chocolate malts dominate the flavor, with a hint of smokiness. The East Kent Goldings hops are few in this brew, just enough for a slight balance. Toffee and chocolate flavors are evident. Great for the malt lover in all of us.

~ Hoodlum Pale Ale ~

Classic American Style Pale Ale. This is a well balanced beer with a dry hop character. We used all Mt. Hood hops in the boil and dry hoped this beer after fermentation. American base malt and a touch of Caramalt give this beer, its body and straw color. We also used our Hop Back on this beer, which involves running the wort through whole leaf hop cones (Mt. Hood) to give the beer a bolder hop aroma and mouthfeel.

~ Hop Killa Imperial IPA ~

Small batch IIPA made with pale and crystal malt. Aggressive use of Columbus and Centennial hops. Citrus and warming alcohol dominate.

~ Mound Builder IPA ~

American Style India Pale Ale. We used an American base malt with an addition of Caramalt to give this, now classic style, a redish hue. An aggressive use of Columbus, a high alpha hop with a full flavor profile, Centennial and dry hopped with Amarillo , citrus hops with notes of orange and grapefruit. People’s IPA is a hoppy, yet smooth American twist on the English IPA.

~ Mr. Brown ~

American Style Brown Ale… “That’s Mr. Brown to you!” We used a lot of base malt and four different dark malts in this beer resulting in a complex malt character and a warming alcohol flavor. This is a great cold weather beer, warming and smooth to take away the chill. We balanced it with Kent Goldings hops.

~ Newman's Bitter ~

English Extra Special Bitter. Caramel sweetness balanced with Cluster and East Kent Golding hops. Very Smooth with a copper color.

~ Nine Irish Ale ~

traditional style Irish Red made with pale, caramalt, chocolate, and a touch of Munich caramalt. This ale has a caramel sweetness that fades into toffee flavors. It’s balanced with East Kent Goldings and Fuggles hops to make a smooth sweetness and malt complexity. Fermented, with an Irish ale yeast, at lower temperatures to keep ester production down and give a tasty malt character.

~ Notorious BIP ~

American Style Black India Pale Ale. We used an American base malt, Caramalt, and dehusked CaraFa with an addition of cold steeped Black malt to give this IPA it’s black color. Centennial and Columbus hop additions result in an aggressive hop character for a dark beer. The flavor of an IPA style ale meets with hints of roasted dark malts. “BIPA, BIPA, BIPA, can’t you see… sometimes your flavaz just hypnotize me…”

~ People's Pilsner ~

This beer is a twist on the Northern German style Pilsner, also known as Dortmunder or Export style Pilsner. These beers made use of hard water, like that of Lafayette, for that reason more malt was used and just enough hops to balance the beer. Rather than change the “locally raised water”, we have added some Caramalt to our Pilsner malt bill to give this beer some malt character. We’ve chosen Santium hops, which have a slightly spicy character, in a very simple hop schedule. The result is a clean finishing Pilsner beer, unique to the Lafayette area and our wonderful local water.

~ Procrastinator ~
